The completed return of the state of the Widows' and Orphans' and Aged Masons' Fund shows that the amount raised within the last two years in answer to the Grand Master's appeal is £4662 16s Vci. The amounts subscribed, by the several districts were as follows:—Auckland £1226, Otago £824, Canterbury £807, "Wellington £686, Southland £532, Hawke's Bay and Gisborne £203, West Coast £172, Taranaki £143, Nelson £65. The capital value of the fund is now £10,660. This will probably yet be supplemented by another £200 still in transit. The Borough Council state that bylaws must be respected, ride Saturday night's "Express." Be wise and avoid the Court by" buying your lamps and bells, etc., from E. Parker's during his Ma,y sale.
