A REMAND TO WELLINGTON

, AUCKLAND, May 11. Albert Clarence Elliott was charged in the Polic6' Court to r day, with stealing £12; received from Henry Robson on account of Kenneth Douglas, and failing to account for the same. The police' asked ior' a week's remand to Wellington. Elliott offered no objection, and the application was granted.
PRIMITIVE BOOK-KEEPING.
WELLINGTON, May 11. At a meeting of Elliott's, creditors to-day, tlte evidence of a'member of the bankrjipVs staff and of Duncan, JBlliott's partner, went to show that the system of book-keeping was apparently very primitive. The bank account was kejji in Elliott's name; there was no account in the name of the firm., . ' ', The Official r a|4ignee was instructed to sell Elliotts- interest in certain property.
