PROHIBITION ORDERS
A prohibition order was granted against a man, on the application of the police..
Jonn Rogerson was charged with, that he did, on the 20th April last, procure liquor whilst a prohibition order ivas out against him. Accused pleaded guilty. His counsel said the man had been going straight, but on I Good Friday somebody, who should | have known better, had procured for hinx the drink, and he had succumbed to the temptation.—Accused was convicted and fined £5 and costs, in de» fault 14 days'. imprisonment. CHARGE OF INDECENCY. John Nicoll, charged on remand with this offence, withdrew his plea. "of not guilty, and pleaded guilty. Mr -McNab appeared on his behalf, and asked the Bench to consider that the offence was not a very bad one. Th* accommodation in Blenheim was very wretched, there being no provision, made by the Borough Council for thet convenience of the public—Accused was fined 40s and costs, in default M days' imprisonm€Qt. DEBT CASES. _^ Tapp and Eagle v. Opotiri Timber Company (Mr Cono%).—A claim for £178 9s lid, goods, supplied. Plaintiff's counsel said that them was a difficulty abo«t this case, inasmuch a3 it was difficult to say who. ; was the right person to sue* Hft would ask for an adjournment for a fortnight. Mr Conolly. did- not -object, ©and the case was adjourned accordingly. i and Wanden t. T. Q. "Whit© (Mr A. Rogers).—ln this case, » claim for £72 12s 3d, cash advanced, Mr Rogers asked, for an adjournment. After objection; and argument, hia Worship granted the adjournment- foi? one week.
