DTJNEDIN, May 1. A fire occurred in the drapery de*. partment of the D.I.C. at 8.15 this morning. The sweepers noticed it, got the hose to work quickly, and sappresscd. the outbreak. The damage by fire and water will amount to a few huiLdreds. of pounds, the loss being, in the dress, glove and hosiery departments. The case of the outbreak is not known, but it is conjee* ture'd that ons of. the sweepers accidentally dropped, a match.
