SIGNAL OR SIGNALMAN?
(Received May 2, 11.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 2. _ The stafionmaster at Murrurundi gave evidence to the effect that he "had no confidence in the signal, and was very careful in handling it. It had failed many times to act perfectly. The district superintendent deposed that he examined the signal after the accident, and found that by faulty manipulation the arm would not go back ip "danger. 3* The Railway Department had hundreds of similar signals, and were quite satisfied with their working.
