PICTON AND FOOTBALL.
♦ ■ ■■ TO THE EDITO*. Sir,: —Reading, your paper .of 28th, I see that the Opawa Football Club are protesting against the Picton football ground. Now, Sir, do you think it fair for the. Opawa Club to try and stop football in Picton? For that is what it will mean, if they are stopped from playing matches on their own ground. They wonyt join the Marlborough. Union if they can't have home and home matches. I don't
think the Opawa Club have got over their beating last year yet, or they wouldn't bring, such a silly thing up again. In fact, the ,-Pictbn Club haven't got the Banner yet that th# won. The Blenheim Clubs all know that there is not another ground to be got in Picton, and the Opawa Club would like the Picton team to travel to -all their matches, while they stay at home and play theirs. I think that the Opawa Club is run by a few ( who want to run the Union and the club j and are afraid of putting their hands in their pockets to travel to play at ■Picton. .••'■■■ . OLD FOOTBALLER.
