Maiden Stakes: Sir Aymer 1, Elkhorn 2, Hermes 3. Nine starters. Won by a neck. Time, 2min 16£ sec.'

Champagne Stakes: Malt 1, Queen Bordind 2, Erriita'3. Ten starters. Won by half a length after a great i finish. Time, lmin 17£ sec. CUP: < Dyed Garments ;...... 1 Tartan ... f ... 2 Absentee ' ... . ... 3 Peru and Goby were the first to show out. At the half mile Electron was leading. Passing the stand the" order was Lady Diffidence, Maranui, Duke of Clarence, _. Electron, Jack Smith, Togo, jMaltine, with Dyed Garments last. Lady Diffidence con-: tinued in front, passing Oxenham's and along the far side, where Jack Smith ran into second place, followed by Maranui and Duke of Clarence. At the six furlongs the. order was practically the same. Dyed Garments came up. Lady Diffidence was still in charge half a mile from home. Maranui was first into the straight. Dyed Garments took charge at the distance, and won easily by six lengths, two between second and third, Maranui fourth, and Bright Steel last. Time, 3min 34sec.

First Steeplechase:; Kuala Lumper ], Eclair 2,•Boomerang 3. The only other starter, Conde fell. Won .by three lengths. Time, omin 493jserf. First Nursery Handicap: Black Range 1, Malteur 2, Contango -3. Twelve starters. Won by a length and a half. Time, lmin 44$ see. There was glorious- weather, and the attendance was a record. The going was a bit heavy after the rain.
