A.bitingly cold southerly wind, accompanied by heavy rain-squalls, prevailed, but towards noon the weather moderated, and on the rain ceasing the bowling tournament . was resumed on the Maitai green. ' ! The local team were successful against Picton by 70 points to 50. The scores were as follows:—Maitai 21, Picton—Greensillj Perano, L. Smitn, and Vickers (skip) —18: Maitai 21, Picton—Martin, Blizzard, Madsen and Nicol (skip)—2l; Maitai 28, Picton-*-Philpotts. G. Smith, Chambers and Pugh (skip)—lo. Newtown defeated Nelson by 62 to 50. '
