COTTAGE GUTTED.

About 11 o'clock on Thursday night a fire broke out in a four-roomed cottage at the end of a right-of-way between Mr John White's office and the Working Men's Club. The Fire Brigade were at work as speedily as possible, and after a time managed to extinguish the flames. The cottage, which was a very old one, was the property of Mr John White, and was almost completely gutted. It was tenanted by a single man named Albert Peters, who had been awajr up the country for some time previous. The house was valued at £120, and was insured in the Phcenix Office.
