LAWYER'S OFFICE.
Later on in the night, or rather early on Friday morning, about halfpast one, a fire broke out in the office of Mr John Conolly, barrister and solicitor. Constable Bird, who was on duty at the' time, had the fire-bells rung at once, but when the Brigade arrived the fire had a good hold. The building was completely gutted, and most of the contents were destroyed. The greater part 'of Mr Conolly's law library was removed, but the books were greatly damaged by fire and water. The office was insured in the London and Lancashire Office for £200, and the contents were insured in the same office for a like amount.
