AUCKLAND, April 14. A: band of five boys, whose ages ranged from ten to fifteen, pleaded guilty in the police Court to-day to a round of burglaries, having, entered fifteen premises and stolen a number of small articles and a quantity of jewellery. Their last exploit was .on Sunday, when they entered a jeweller' s shop. and stole jewellery valued at £50, bringing tfie total depredations to £110.

Most of the articles were recovered when the gang were arrested, but a bag of opals which the boy to whom they were allotted threw aw ( ay j'as valueless is missing. Chief Detective Marsacfc stated that the boys roamed the streets day and night, and were quite beyond parental control.

All the defendants were committed to the Burnside Industrial School.
