BOWLING.

THE NEW ZEALANDERS IN ADELAIDE. /

DECISIVELY DEFEATED

[press association.] (Received April 14, 10.5 p.m.) . ADELAIDE, April 14. The New Zealand bowlers played their second and final game against South Australia on the Adelaide Oval to-day. As the visitors had to catch the afternoon train for Melbourne at 4.30 the game was,begun at 1.30, and was limited to 21 ends. The weather was dull, with a few spots of rain, which made the couch-grass stand up, and the greens were not quite keen enough for the visitors, although they played truly. Walker and Ham met again, and they had a fine tussle, which was even until towards the finish, when Walker got a fiver, which won for him by that majority. Ham and Thompson both played well against a strong rink. Clarence Moody got an initial break of ten on to Goldstone, who recovered some points; he then went to the bad again. 'Maynard played several good shots, but. Goldstone was clean off colour, and could never get the strength of the green. , •: Hodgert led Ben tie v a merry dance. The New Zealand skipper was unwell, but Smith did good work for him. Hill, who had a good all-round team,, had a close go with Bishop, whose men played well. ;

Walsh always led Allnutt's rink/ in which the captain, with saving shots, was the most conspicuous player.' During their rush visit the New Zealanders had a busy ,time, and are delighted that they changed their itinerary to include Adelaide. Following are the scores l— South Australia (120):—Snowly, Sobels. Gurr and Hodgert 26; Johnson, A. Rowley, Bower and Walsh 29; Taplin, Schroder, Hoffmann, and Clarence Moody 27; Bond, Rowe, Thomas and Hill 18; Schultz, Malm, H. Moody and Walker 20. New 'Zealand (71):—McGibbon, Manning,. Smith and Bentley 10; Brood, Bastings, Johnston and Allnutt 17; Chegwin, Gee, Maynard and Goldstone 14; Neave, W. Martin, WaddelLand Bishop 15; Stubberfield, Galbraith, Thompson and Ham 15.,!
