LETTING MR DEAKIN STAY IN
OFFICE.
[press association.] (Received April 15, 9.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, April 15. Mr Deakin has officially confirmed his intention to remain in office at least till the tariff is through. He will move an amendment that the Royal Commission to inquire into the management of the Post Office be postponed till the tariff is out of the ■way, and expects it to be accepted. Mr Fisher, the leader, of the Labour Party, after a Labour caucus, said he hoped that harmonious relations would be restored when the House meets to-day. It is understooc^that a majority of tne Labour Members who voted against the Government have agreed to fall mto line.
