LONDON MARKETS.

Dalgety and Company, Limited, Wellington, have received the follow ■ ing cable messages from their London House, under date of the 19th inst. :— Butter.—The Copenhagen official quotation is higher by 2 Kroner (about 2s 3d) per cwt. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending 7th September amounted to 73,000 cwt, as compared with 72,000 cwt for the corresponding wek of 1906. A further rise in prices is expected, except for inferior quality. Frozen Meat.—The market is dull, but prices are unchanged. Wool.—The list of arrivals is closed. The new arrivals amounted to 105,900 bales, of which 38,500 bales have been forwarded direct to manufacturers at Home and abroad, leaving 91,000 bales available for sale, which includes 24,000 bales carried forward from July series.

Wheat.—The market is very dull, and there is nothing doing. Sales are suspended.
