GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKETS.
(Christchurch Press, Saturday.) No transactions in wheat are reported this week. There is a good enquiry, but buyers and sellers are not agree as to price. The rise in the price of flour 10s per ton may assist the wheat market, unless holders further increase their reserves. Oats are very firm, and it is reported that a rise of 2£d per bushel has taken place in Melbourne, from whence shipments have lately been made to New Zealand. Potatoes are dull of sale, and early varieties of table potatoes are now lower in price. The undermentioned are the prices paid to farmers, at country stations, free ?f commission, except where otherwise specified:—! . Wheat—4s 6d at (country stations.) Oats nominal). Flour—J6lo 10s per ton. Bran--.£4 10s locally, .£4 5s f.o.b. Pollard— £6 10s. Oatmeal — £16. Oatsheaf Chaff—Prime, prompt delirery, £^ 5s at country stations.
