Richard James Western's adjourned application for a discharge was grantWalter Chas. McAllister's application for a discharge was adpourned. The sittings then closed.
An application for an order in a I judgment summons case Cresswell v. Coleman was heard this afternoon, and adjourned for two months. Defendant (for whom Mr Rogers appeared) was examined by plaintiff, and said he had a family of 13, nine of whom were quite young. He had been employed at a wage of £2 per week by the Awatere Road Board as an engine-driver. That employment had now ceased, and he was out of work. Mr Rudd, Branch Manager of the Union Steamship Company, the owners of the steamer Waihi now stranded at the Boulder Bank, informs us that the vessel^ is valued at £3000, and is uninsured. At the Police Court this morning William Roy was charged with stealing 12s 2d from Wm. John Williamson. Evidence was given by Constable Carmody, and the defendant. The latter having explained how ho came by the naoiiey, the Magistrate dismissed the information. Mr Baillie appeared for defendant,
