[Beforo His Honour Judge Denniston.] FRIDAY, JUNE 15. AN APPEAL CASE. The Inspector of Factories at Picton (Wm. Thompson) appealed against a decision given for defendant in the lower Court in an action under the Shops and Offices Act against George Maitland (Maitland and McCovmick) of keeping an employee at work after nine o'clock on Saturday night. Crown counsel was for the ap- ■ pellaut and Mr McNab for ;Mr, Maitland. His Honour was asked to interpret the nine o'clock "employment" provision of the 1905 Amendment Act as read along with the 10 o'clock "closing " provision of the 1904 Act. His Honour reserved his decision.
