Major John Drummond, of the Fifth (Ruahino) Rifle Battalion, has been promoted to be lieutenant-colonel. Mr F. J. Hutchins, of Woodville, has been appointed clerk of the Woodville County Council, vice Mr W. Nicholson, resigned. Constable Satherley, late of Wanganui, has been promoted to the charge of the new station at Granity Creek, about 1G miles from Westport.
