A PRIEST BURNED TO DEATH. [PKESS ASSOCIATION.] / ■ DUNEDIN, June 8. McCann s hotel at Tapanui was burned to the ground at Nix o'clock tins morning. When the firo was discovered a light wind was blowing, but calmed down. It is feared that one of the lodgers. Father Murphy, was burned to death, as he cannot be found. 4 A small shop adjoining, owned by Miss McKenzie, dressmaker j was also .destroyed, but the stock was saved. McCann is a heavy loser, as his insurances were light. Later. The body of Father McGrath was recovered. He was apparently burned in his bed.
