LONDON, May 11. The Bank of England return for the week ending Wednesday, May 9, is as follows:—Coin, £29,913,000; reserve, £20,880,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 39.35; in circulation, £28,----812,000; public deposits, £8,207,000; other deposits, £44,7.89,000; Government securities, £15,977,000; other securities, £33,977,000. . The market rate of discount tor three months' bills is 3 13-16 per cent. Consols, £89 7s 6d; New South Wales 4 per cents. £110, 3J per cents. £9;J, 3 per cents. £88 10s; Victorian 4 per cents. £104, 3J per cents. £100 15s, 3 per cents. £90; Adelaide stocks are unchanged; Queensland 4 per cents. £107 10s, 3£ per cents. £100 10s, 3 per cents. £89; New Zealand 4 par cents. £107, 3| per cents £101 10s, 3 per cents. £89 10s; Tasnianian 3£ per cents, unchanged, 3 per.cents. £88 10s; Perth 3-J- per cents. £99 10s, 3 per cents. £88 10s. .

The wheat markets are'quiet, with rather a weak tendency. Buyers are holding off in anticipation of large arrivals. Cargoes are dull; 31s 6d was asked for South Australian off coast, 31s 3d for New South Wales, and 31s to 31s 6d for cargoes afloat. Australian spot, quiet, 335; New Zealand long-berried, 31s 6d to 325, short 31s to 31s 6d.

Flour is steady. Patent makes in London are quoted at from 23s to 23s 6d; Glasgow 24s 3d to 24s 6d . There is nothing doing in freights. The butter market is steady. Colonial is unchanged; Danish has hardened.

Cheese is slow of sale; New Zealand white 60s, colored 62s to 635. Copper—Spot £83 17s 6d, three months £82 17s 6d per ton.

Tin—Spot £198, three months £190 per ton. ■ Pig-iron—Spot 50s Id per ton. Spelter—£26 7s 6d' per ton. Sugar is quiet; German 8s 2d; first marks 10s 4d.

Bradford Tops—The high prices are chocking business. Forties are quoted at 18'Jd per 1b; 4(>'s. 20d; common 60's, 27id; super, 28=id. . *

At the London sales the following were the average' prices for the fleece portions of the following clij>s:—Gear 13d, Otari 133 d, Canterbury 13^d, Woodbank 14£ d, Spring Vale 14jjd.
