LATE LOCALS.

Inspector Strachan, who has resinned his duties after a month's leave ot absence, was felicitated by the members oi the Education Board on his recent marriage, and wished happiness and prosperity.

We learn of a smart motor-car journey from Nelson to Blenheim. The trip, which was made in a Reo car, occupied five hours and a quarter, commencing at the Masonic Hotel, Nelson, and ending at the Opawa railway bridge.

The Education Board authorised Inspector Strachan to-day to devote £5 towards' the establishment of singing classes in Blenheim. It* hoped that Mr M. Cheek will be able to take charge of the classes.

A very interesting account of the doings of the recent Methodist Conference was given at the Wesleyan Church yesterday morning by^ the Blenheim representative (Mr E. H. Penny), the tulT report is unavoidably held over.

As will be seen by an advertisement in this issue, the celebrated Black Family will give a farewell performance in Blenheim on Wednesday and Thursday nights. A fuller description of the combination will appear tomorrow.
