The weather is fine and the attendance good for the opening day of the Takaguna meeting. Trial—Franklin 1, Solicia 2, Miss Winnie 3. Scratched: Kola Nip, The Lark, and Shrewsberry, Franklin was never troubled, winning easily by two lengths. Half a head between second, and third. Time, lmin 44sec. Dividends, £2 7s 6d and £1 18s. St. Andrew's—Geordie 1, Landlock 2, Rookby 3. Scratched: Akarana. Won by half a length. Time, 2miu lOsec. Dividends, £2 2s and 17s. Cambria—Conductor 1, Primo 2, Misere 3. All started. Duart ran off. Won easily by three lengths. Time, 53sec. Dividends, £6 Is and 12s 6d.

Maiden Hurdles—Sol Leo 1, Feve 2, Lochard 3. Scratched: Cuiragno and Lekida. Won by tfiree lengths. Baltimore, Seabird, and Royal Shell fell. Time, 3min. Dividends, £2 15s and £4 12s.

Cheltenham—Miss Winnie 1, Noteorini 2, Sonoma 3, Scratched: Syren, Miss Winnie led all the way, winning by thrfe lengths. Time, lmin 3sec. Lucredfc, Dardanus, and Lovelink fell. Dividneds, £9 8s and £3 16s.
