WASHED OVERBOARD.

TWO SEAMEN DROWNED

[press association.]

INVERCARGILL, Nov. 27. The ketch Anna from Chalky Inlet reports the loss of the master (William Banning) and John Joss. They were swept overboard by a sea in Foveaux Strait yesterday. But for two seamen and passengers being on deck it is probable that the ketch and her half-dozen passengers would have been lost, as Harming was at the wheel, a spoke of which was torn out. Joss was in the act of pouring oil over, the craft having shipped two seas previously. Nothing was seen of the men.
