The Premier (Mr Carruthers) claims that the State accounts for the first seven months of the financial year show a comparative improvements of £876,000. Last year out of 3,700,000 ' acres of Crown lands available for selection 3,303,000 acres were selected. The number of sheep in the State at the end of last year was 32,466,000—an increase of nearly 4,000,000. The cattle numbers 1,802,600 —an increase of 115,000. Horses show a considerable decrease.
