COLONIAL MILITARY POSTS
t*res* Association. Electric Telegraph. Copyright. London, July 15. Lord Stanley, Financial Secretary to the War Office, replying to a question, said he was aware of two instances where officers would have been deprived of their half-pay or pension if they had entered the Australian service. The regulation, he said, was based on the ground that the colonies were better served by officers on the active list. It would be unfair if retired officers were employed by a colony and treated more favorably than those employed by the Imperial Government.
