The Arbitration Court concluded its sittings to-day, when a number of awards were given.

In the fellmongers' award the wages were fixed at from 12s 6cl per wee'c for youths 15 and 16 years old, to 30s from 20 to 21 years. Unskilled workers over 55 can be employed at paddock work or pnlling pieces at a minimnm rate of 7£d an hour. The award comes into force on May 25th, In the Waimate threshing machine hands' dispute wages were fixed afc lOd per hour with food, Is without; piece work, ordinary workers 12i per thou sand bushels of wheat or barley, 10d per thousand bushels of oats, bagman Is per thousand bushels in addition to these rates. Nothing in tho award will apply to drivers or feeders. The award is limited to the district botwesn the Waitaki and Rangifcafca rivera.

In the gardeners' dispute 48 hours was fixed as a week's work, from May Ist to October 31st eight hours per day, the rest of tho year 8| hours. Competent nurserymen's wages to be : By time Is per hour, weekly £2 53 ; gardeners' laborers 10|d per hour, £2 per week; apprentices to receive 5s per week for the first six months, and increases of 03 per week till the ond of five years; competent practical gardeners and gardeners' laborers, same ratos as the same classes of nurseryman. The award comes into force on November Ist, 1903, as regards nurserymen, and May 25 th as regards gardeners. Tho country printers' award provides for a week's work of 48 hours, regulated according to the requirements and circumstances of employers ; men not to work a longer period than 13 hours in tha 24. Sundays, Christmas Day, and Good Friday, work to be paid double, holidays time and a half extra; Sunday pay not to apply to morning newspapers, Wages in the town of Ashburton will be: Jobbing hands exclusively £2 109, with jobbing and newspaper work £2 ss; in all other towns except Timaru not in the award £2 2s weekly; for journeymen machine and other machine hands, £2 2s for the first six months after the award, for the second six months £2 10s, after £2 15s; piece work, hand setting, Is per thousand. The number of girls and youths which can be employed is not limited, whether apprenticed or not; wages to be fixed when not apprenticed, girls from 5s to 303, youths from 5s to 40s. Apprentices can be taken on probation, wages to be from 5s to 303.

The whole of the case 3in this district are now disposed of.
