Nominations will be accepted from outside Marlborough. 2. Nominations, with money enclosed, will be received by jthe Secretary until 8 p.m. on 15th December for Rep wick Handicap, Mile, and Half-mile. • Handicaps will be declared on December 20th. Acceptances will be received till 27th December. Telegrams and letters bearing above date will.be j accepted. i 3. In each event three are to start or no race, five to start, or no second prize. i 4. AH nominations mast be accompanied with performances of two-past years ;if no performances during j period, three performances are to be given. ...>. 5. All protests are to be made in writing, and are to be handed to the Secretary with 10s within ten minutes of the close of the event. If proved that the protest is frivolous the money will be forfeited to,the Club, if upheld the money will.be returned. 6. All disputes will be finally settled by the Committee in the Steward's tent. LORD RANFURLY is rising years; was foaled November, 1895; and was bred by James Bishop, Esq., Wheatstone, Canterbury. He is a dapple brown, standing 17 bands high, with immense quality of good flat bonie, an abundance of superior action, com bined with a splendid temper. .- Lord Cranley, sire of Lord Ranfubly, is by Laird of Kilbride, by Prince of Kilbride (imp); dam Flower, by Prince Charlie (imp); second dam, Rose of Keilor (imp), by Baron of Glenlee. Lord Cranley's Show ring performances are too numerous to specify here. " Fanny, dam of Lord Ranjubly, is by 'that celebrated sire Vanquisher; dam Nell, by Taieri Tom. Fanny's dam, Nell, was bred by Mrs Nimmo,of the Taieri Plains. Fanny had a most successful innings in the show ring. Vanquisher, the sire of Fanny, is by Young Vanquisher (imp); dam Tibbie; by Prince Royal, who carried oil several champion prices at Christchurch; grand dam, Bell 11., by Major (imp); G. G, Belle, winner 16 first and second prizes in Otago and Canterbury, by Blairs Champion (imp), full brother to Molntosh's Prince Charlie, G. G Duchess, bred bi*Dr "Wfltoore. vVan quisher is sire of that great colt Dr Seddon. Miss Palmer, dam of Lord Cranley and Dr Seddon, is by Lord Salisbury (imp); dam, Dnchess 11., sire, Sir Colin (imported from Scotland). Lord Salisbury retired from the show ring an unbeaten, horse. Young Vanquisher, bred by Peter Anderson, Stranrear, Scotland, out of his celebrated mare Sally, by Loohfergus; Champion, grand sire. Blair's champion Sally gained first prize at Glasgow, and at Johnstone and Strathrear Exhibitions as best Clydesdale mare exhibited there. Young Vanquisher by Vanquisher, by old Sir William Wallace, by Lothian Tarn. Prince Royal, sire of Tibbie1, is by Mclntosh's Prince Charlie, above-! mentioned. Miss Palmer is winner of 24 first, 10 second, and two champion prizes. Lord Ranfurly was awarded first and championship at the last Marlborough A. and P. Show in a large ring of horses.. His stook gained two firsts and one second at the same show. His stock now working are described as splendid specimens of the Clydesdale. Fee, £3 10s; groomage, 5s at first service.
