NATIVE TROUBLE AT JOHANNESBURG.
Received July 8, 9.4 a.m.
London, July 7.
The police at Johannesburg arrested a number of chiefs for inciting natives to leave work.
The " boys" tried to rescue thei*
leaders.
The ringleaders of the rescuers werd fined, and the chiefs sent to prison.
The excuse given for the trouble is that it was caused by the poor wages ruling as compared with those of war-
time.
