The Governor and Lady Rawson, the Premier, members of the Ministry and the Commandant were amongst the attendants at the intercessary services in the Town Hall and Cathedral. High mass was celebrated at St, Mary's Cathedral. Services were held in many city and suburban churches. Large numbers of the military were present in uniform at the services throughout the State. Melbourne, June 25. It was decided that both State and Commonwealth celebrations, including ception and illuminations, be proceeded the military: •view, the Governor's rewith as originally arranged. Church services, however, will be held for intercession instead of praise. The Victoria Racing Cinb and the theatres adhered to the original programme. All public offices will be closed, the State Government, in deciding upon this course, followed the action of the Federal Government. Lord Hopetoun's gifts of £100 and 300 bottles of champagne were yesterday distributed among the unemployed. Impressive intercessory services were held in the churches. The Governor - General, i Governor and members of the Ministry j were amongst the attendants. Similar services were held in other States, the Governors and Ministers being present. ; Hob art, June 26. All festivities, excepting military sports and charity are postponed. Intercessory services will be held today. The wife of the Premier yesterday entertained the children of the city at i tea. Adelaide, June 25. Over £2600 has been contributed to the Coronation fund for the relief of the poor, and over fifteen thousand half-crown tickets have been issued for food and clothing. Adelaide, June 26. Governor Tennyson has received official communication from Mr Chamberlain notifying the King's illness and the postponement of Coronation services.
