Press Association. Electric Telegraph, Copyright.

London,-June 25.

Immense crowds await the doctors' bulletins, and give fervent expressions of relief when they are fairly reassuring.

Intercessory sei vices are being held in Canada, snd holiday ordeis and reviews have been cancelled.

The Daily Telegraph states that yesterday morning the King's temperature developed, demanding immediate investigation. The Court physicians unanimously decided that an instantaneous operation was urgent. That opinion was vindicated by subsequent knowledge. If the operation bad not been performed, then His Majesty would have succumbed in a few hours.

When the King was informed of the necessity of the operation, he unhesitatingly declared that he had no dreed of the ordeal, but was grieved that the public would be disappointed.

When he recovered conscionsness after the operation His Majesty inquired for the Prince of Wales, and spoke to him calmly, saying he felfc relieved at the result.

In the House of Lords Lord Salisbury emphasised the opinion of the physicians, who said there was every hopo and prospect of a speedy and favorable issue.
