At a meeting of the City Council tonight the Mayor, after expressing deep regret at the King's illness, moved that the Council- desire to ex press their regret at the news of the illness of the King of so serious a nature as to necessitate the postponment of the Coronation. The Council prays that the Almighty will speedily restore the King to lull health and strength to reigii for many years. The resolution was carried, the Governor to be requested to send the motion to tho King. Masterton, June 26. All preparations for the Coronation celebrations were suspended.
