The Australians continued the second innings on a difficult wicket, though the weather was fine.

The last four wickets fell for 17 runs, the innings closing for 87, Gregory carrying out his bat for a well-played 42.

Haigh took 5 wickets for 49, Rhodes 4 for 22.
