Yorkshire fared even worse than the Australians. The wickets fell fast, and the first inning 3 closed for 77, the chief scores being : —Brown 14, Denton 13.

Tunnicliffe, Haigh, and Rhodes were dismissed without scoring.

Trumble took six wickets for 17.

The Australians began the second innings, and at call of time had lost six wickets for 70. Gregory not out 31 and Hopkins 10 were the only batsmen to reach double figures.
