Jones, Carter, and Armstrong stand out of the Australian team. Darling won the tos9, and decided to bat. The Australians opened badly, losing two wickets for three runs. Then Hill and Darlingraisedthescoreto77before the latter left, and was soon followed by Hill. Then a further rot set in, and seven wickets were down when only 91 was on the board; the whole team being out for 106. Hill 34, Darling 40, and Duff (no* out 11 were the only double figures, while Hopkins, Noble, Kelly, and Trumble failed to score. Rhodes took five wickets for 49, Haigh four for 18. At the luncheon adjournment Yorkshire had lost one wicket for ni!. Received June 24,10.50 a.m. London, June 23. Yorkshire has lost seven wickets for 48 runs.
