THE VOLUNTEER PRIZE FIRING.

A meeting of the Shooting Committee was held m the Drill Shed on Saturday evening. The protest entered against Sergt Ching receiving a prize because he did not fire m uniform, was disallowed on the grounds " that the protest should have been entered before the competitors finished firing, and also that Sergt Ching was under the impression that he had obtained permission to j shoot m mufti." A proposal, " That it be a recommendation from this to next year's Committee that markers be not allowed to compete for prizes," was carried unanimously.
