♦ GOOD BUBINEBB. [UNITED PBKBB ASSOCIATION.] Dtjredin, September 20. The report of the directors of the Colonial Bank for the half-year ending 31st August, states that after J making various provisions the net I profit is £12,935 Us 2d, to which has to be added £8,700 15s sd, balance from the previous year, making a total of £'21,636 6s Bd. Deducting the Land and Income and Note Tax, £1,656 3s lOd, there is available £19,980 2s lOd. Pending the result of negotiations for the purchase of the Bank, the directors do not at present intend to deal with the balance, but will adjourn the general meeting on the 25th September to a day m October, by which time the wishes of shareholders as expressed J at an emergency meeting shortly to | be called, of which due notice will be given, will be known. j
