SUSPICIOUS FIRES.

' ■» ■ [united press association.] . Gisborne, October 16. Last night a fifteen roomed house, which is being erected for Lt.-Col. Porter, waa destroyed by fire. The builder was J. Ponsford, who states that the house would have been completed m three weeks time. He is insured m the New Zealaud office for £450, but estimates his loss at £100 above that. The origin of the fire is a mystery. Last week another house nearing completion was destroyed m a similar manner, 'and it is thought there must be an incendiary about. An enquiry takes place to-morrow.
