THE WELLINGTON CORPORATION.
* (united press association.) Wellington, October 16. The City Council overdraft at the end of September was £11,093. The much agitated question of forming a recreation ground at the Thorndon End of the town is now before the Council, who have recently acquired the cemetery. This is the only place where such a ground could be formed, but the cost is estimated at £4,500. The amount frightened most Councillors and the matter was referred to the Financial Committees.}
