♦ ■ " ■■ ALTERATION OP ELECTORATES. PICTON AND THE WAIRATJ COMBINED. [UKITED PBEBS ABBOOIATION. ] Wellington, October 14. The effect of the alteration m the popu lation showa by the census is that the South Island loses one member and the North gains one, the numbers being 39 and 31. Wellington and Canterbury will be confined to the town boundaries, and the new electorate constituted is to be known as the Wellington suburbs. The Commission will meet again on the 16th inst to hear objections. • The following is the Wairau Electorate district as amended by the Representation Commission :— Wairau comprises the whole of the Maryborough county, excepting the Pelorus Riding and Havelpck Town District, together with the Boroughs of Blenheim and Pioton. The following is the Waimea Sounds Electorate District :— Waimea Sounds comprises the Sounds County and the whole of the Waimea County, excepting (1) Ridings of Stoke, Wangamoa, Wangapeka, and Motupiko : (2) That of the Waiiti Biding, which, is situated between the Wairoa River and Nelson and Pox Hill Railway, and the last of the road on the western boundaries of section 53, 54, 60 and 140 of the Waimea Survey District, and east of a line drawn, so as to include sections 2 and 3 ; and (3) That part of Molueka Riding lying north from Sandy Bay, and more particularly described as situated to .the west of sections 2: of 13, 4, 204, 5 and 82, and north of road leading towards Takaka, together with the Riding of Pelorus and Havelock Town District, both m the Marlborough County, and the Brothers and D'Urville and adjaoen Islands. ______________ • -'
