A new tunnel was being con- I structed by the Mansfield party for No. .' 3 Channel when the deviation caved m. ' Five men are entombed. Their names J are — George Mansfield, -Thomas Thomas, David Evans, Thomas Morgan, and ' Eiohard Straight. Air has been passed to 1 them, but it will be seven honrshoforq ! they can be released. 1 A man named Williata Thompson was * thrown from a trap at E;illinohy last night ' and dragged along the road, receiving m- J juries, from which he died this morning. i Sidney, December 18. l T Two men named Camp and Bseoroft • were engaged to-day mixing some non- r corrosive paint m the ship building yard £ at Pyrmont, when- the compound ex- s ploded with terrific violence. Both men I received fearful injuries, and are now ' dead. *
