THE PARIS EXHIBITION.
: ♦ : — (united pbess association.) Wellington, Nov. 15. A notice appears m the Gazette respecting the Paris Exhibition of 1889. Persona intending to exhibit are requested to apply to the Colonial Secretary, at "Wellington, from Ist December, 1888, to sth January, 1889. Forms of application for space can be obtained from the municipal authorities and the French consular agents m the cities and chief towns of the Colony. It is not yet known how much space will be available, but it is expected to , be limited, and precedence will be given to the first applicants. The exhibits must be m Paris early m April, and consequently must leave m February. Freight and other expenses are to be at the charge of the exhibitors, who are invited to state what >■ amount they would be.disposed to incur. Specimens of natural history, samples of produce, &c, to be exhibited and afterwards presented for permanent exhibition m the Paris Museum, or at a Permanent Commercial Exhibition of the Ministry of Commerce, or elsewhere m a jubilee institution, will be taken free of charge at , Wellington, and thankfully acknowledged by the representative of the Frenoh Government. Curios, photographs, and exhibits of produce can be sold at the Exhibition ; New Zealand being a part of the extreme Orient whereto this privilege [ -was exceptionally granted.
