PRECAUTIONS AGAINST SMALL POX.
(UNITED PBBSS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, Oot 24. A proclamation appearß in the Gazette authorising the following regulations in any case where a vessel arrives at any port in New Zealand from any port of Tasmania having on board a medical officer who certifies in writing that Bmall-pox did not exist on board suoh vessel at the time of sailing or departure, and that no oase of small-pox has developed itself on board such vessel during the voyage, that he has within twenty-four hours previous to the vessel's arrival inspected suoh vessel and all the passengers and crew thereof, and that there is in his opinion nothing to prevent the vessel's admission to pratique, and if after inspection no symptoms of small-pox are discovered on such vessel by the health officer (if a medical practitioner), or by any medical practitioner assisting health officer in such inspection, then such vessel may be admitted to pratique.
