In its annual report of the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce published to-day," the Committee without endorsing Sir Julius Vogel's scheme for purchasing the cables, upheld his proposal that a conference of Postmasters General from the different Australian colonies should be held, for the purpose of discussing the cable question, and they declare tnat such conference can scarcely fail to be productive of good.
