A COWARDLY FELLOW,
[united pkess association.] Christchurch, Dec. 22. ~ A child of seven was nearly drowned iv the river while some fellow calmly looked on and made no attempt to rescue or give the alarm. A gentleman passing m a trap went to the rescue and saved the child after it sank for the last time The cowardly fellow slunk off during the excitemeut, and just escaped a thrashing wlvch had been prepared for him.
