He is by Old Surprise, which was first as a 2-year-old at Johnstone, Cambuslang, &c, &c, and twice gained the prize for the best stallion, at the Glasgow Society's Shows, to travel m the district. He also gained the Highland Society's first prize at Inverness, and other prizes, to travel as a stallion. Kilbowie's dam also gained many prizes. Kilbowie gained the first prize at Drymen as a two-year-old, and first at Stirlingshire Shows. .Kilbowie was purchased from that wellknown breeder Mr David Riddel, Kilbowie, Duntocher.
