The report of the New Zealand Shipping Company to be presented at the annual meeting on August 12, shows a profit for the year of £40,956 6s lOd, and of this ±25,000 will be appropriated to a reserve fund, which will bring that up to £100,000. A dividend of 10 per cent will absorb £12,565, and the balance, £3,456 6s lOd, will be carried forward. The insurance fund has to its credit £6,429 17s 90". : - • • Wellington, ThisDty. During the month 98 births, 38 and deaths were registered, and 20 marriage certificates issued.
