The Government will redeem the Carl captives, and send them homo. The schooner Katheran was wrecked on King’s Island ; crew saved. An important discovery of gold at Darrin River, Gipps Land ; nearly all the stock-yard diggers left for the new ground, which is reported fabulously rich. Sydney, Dec. 12. The country press generally condemns the Councils for rejecting the Newspaper Postage Abolition Bill. Parkes last night introduced a bill to amend the Council. - -'iP'' Medium scoured and fleece wool in demand ; sheepskins in request at Old. Adelaide, Dec. 12. An annual meeting of the Bible Society was held last night. Strong resolutions, re the South Sea traffic islanders, were passed.
