By proclamation in the Government Gazette, the oyster-beds at Port Adventure, Stewart’s Island, are closed for two years from the 28th of July. '—The following are the steamer arrangements as far as known atjpresent:—Friday, August 1(5, Taranaki for Wellington and South ; Wednesday, 21st, Wellington for Nelson and North ; Saturday, 24th, Phosbe for Wellington and South.

Davies’, tapping a fine stream at upwards of 100 feet below the surface, affording the fortunate proprietors an unlimited supply of the pure element.
