On Monday last, by telegram, A tbrillling message came ; i Blenheim boys, your fame’s begun— For the great prize is won. , Hurrah ! for Johnny Tait. Come boys, your muskets bring,— Try to compete with him ; Then his honors you may share, And a gold medal wear. Hurrah ! for Johnny Tait. Hark ! to you Blenheim boys, Leave your cricket, boats, or toys; And to the target come, •: At the sound of fife or drum, And welcome Johnny Tait. Perseverance is the test.
