S SOLDIERS' FAREWELL. The Gore Town Hall was crowded last evening on the occasion of the farewell, tendered u> mem Inn's of the ' 20th Reinforcement.?; who are on final leave. ' The .supper arrangements were fu the hands of a. small committee of ladies who, needless, to state, carried out i the : r work with entire satisfaction. At. a suitable interval short addressee were niado by the Afayor and Afr G. .). Anderson, M'.R. EacJi of these gentil-emen_ congratulated the men on their splendid action in giving their services voluntarily. Mention was , made of the fact that the Gore district since the start of the war had never failed to .send its full quota of men when they were counted, and it was hoped; that, the district would uphold this high record. Both speakers wished the men Godspeed, the best of liealth and a speedy return. SALE OF WORK AT MATAURA. A sale of work in aid of tho Building Fund of St. -Saviour'sChurch. MaUiura. was held in AlcGregor'is Half yesterday afternoon and evening. The attendance was good and business was brisk. The various stalls were well istocketl with produce, sweets, plain and fancy goods. Those, in charge of the stalls were as follows: —Lollie stall, Airs H. Slceniii.il and Aliss F.
